Recognition places the technical fabrics manufacturer in the top 35% worldwide for sustainability achievements.
Charleston, South Carolina, September 5th, 2025: AstenJohnson has once again earned the "Bronze" Medal by EcoVadis, the globally trusted provider of business sustainability ratings with a network of more than 150,000 rated companies.
The bronze medal indicates AstenJohnson is in the top 35% of all rated companies, with the most advanced sustainability strategies. AstenJohnson is also in the top 16% of the companies within our own industry.
EcoVadis’ mission is to provide reliable, globally recognized sustainability ratings and insights. EcoVadis sustainability assessment methodology, built on international sustainability standards (UNGC, ISO26000, GRI), is an evaluation of how well a company has integrated the principles of Sustainability/CSR into their business and management system. The sustainability scorecard illustrates performance across 21 indicators in four categories: environment, labor & human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement.
This great achievement is the result of each associate’s engagement and commitment to sustainable development. AstenJohnson has maintained its commitment and has demonstrated substantial progress towards sustainable development. Since 2019, we have improved our scores in all four themes by implementing new policies, setting up new initiatives and enhancing our reporting practices. “All our customers and stakeholders benefit from our progress and share in positive gains we are making to reduce CO2 and Waste while expanding sustainable ways in offices and manufacturing plants. The improvement in our Ecovadis results confirms our efforts are paying off.”, explains Henry Johnson, Vice President and member of the AJ Sustainability Steering Team.
In 2025, we continue to focus on building sustainability progress across all our sites. This strategy allows AstenJohnson to expand its work in topics such as carbon emission, energy efficiency waste reduction, circular economy, community, diversity and sustainable procurement. "At AstenJohnson, sustainability begins with people" said Connie Wilson, Vice President of Human Resources. "Our associates collaborate across facilities and regions to share ideas and create initiatives that benefit one another, our customers, and the communities where we live and work. This recognition demonstrates the power of our people to build a stronger, more inclusive future together."
AstenJohnson is committed to providing the best to its associates and its community by using the CSR approach.
