PriZm® Multi-Axial Revolution Series
PriZm®
PriZm press fabrics address the most important needs of today's demanding paper makers: increased production and better sheet properties. The PriZm-XF technology, unique to AstenJohnson, is the finest woven fabric that provides the best marking resistance in the industry. Multi-axial fabrics are produced using dense single layer base modules that provide optimal transfer of the nip's pressure. The fabric components are angled to one another, preventing structural collapse. These fabrics, produced without any weave loom edges, eliminate machine direction defects that could contribute to vibration.
Benefits
- Roll bridging and fine top base provide superior water removal
- Multi-axial base reduces roll marking
- Bases resist collapse, increasing durability
Applications
- All paper grades
- Steam limited machines
- Pickup and press positions

Classic Series
X-TendaPress™
This laminated product line uses two different bases to meet the demands of high water load presses. The X-TendaPress press fabric combines a fine top cloth for unsurpassed pressure uniformity and enhanced resistance to mark with a bottom base cloth engineered to maximize void volume while minimizing flow resistance. This provides for more efficient removal of the large volumes of water delivered to these nips. This fabric features a high caliper construction for maximum water removal. Because the fabric is extremely compaction resistant, paper makers can expect longer life as well as consistent performance throughout the life of the fabric.
Benefits
- Mark resistant
- Excellent cleanability
- Void volume/caliper retention
Applications
- High water load applications
- Tandem, LNP and shoe presses
Lamina™
The construction of the Lamina press fabric line makes it a versatile and stable design for a variety of applications -- from fine to news to packaging grades. Its stratified structure provides the optimum blend of void volume, pressure uniformity and caliper retention. This is accomplished by superimposing a fine mesh base fabric over a coarser multi-layer structure.
Benefits
- Superior void volume retention
- Maximized water handling
- Excellent dimensional stability
Applications
- All presses and pickups of packaging grades
- Vibration critical positions
- High water load or high press load positions
MaxXum™
The construction of the MaxXum press fabric line makes it a versatile and stable design for a variety of applications -- from fine to news to packaging. It offers the ultimate in water removal and sheet smoothness. Single monofilament cross machine direction yarns make the MaxXum press fabric a durable fabric ideally suited for high water load, high press load applications.
Benefits
- Superior void volume retention
- Maximized water handling
- Durability
Applications
- High flow rate positions
- Newsprint and fine paper pickups
- All packaging presses with low to medium loading
- Where medium to high vacuum is preferred
Connect Series
QuadraSeam®
AstenJohnson's QuadraSeam fabric is specifically engineered for shoe presses. Featuring two multi-layer laminated bases, the QuadraSeam press fabric provides the ultimate in void volume and water handling capability. The ruggedly constructed four layer fabric relies on an all monofilament structure to provide excellent water handling capabilities.
Benefits
- Superior void volume retention provides water handling capability
- Dual seam provides increased seam strength for added durability
- Proprietary treatment process for high durability
Applications
- All packaging and pulp grades
- Long nip and extended nip presses
- All presses that depend on mid-nip void volume for water removal efficiency
DynaSeam®
The DynaSeam press fabric is designed to perform on a wide range of applications, including brown papers, board and pulp. The large diameter yarns used in the machine direction and cross machine direction provide high void volume and compaction resistance while minimizing flow resistance. The DynaSeam press fabric is also ideal for positions where difficult conditions demand greater seam strength.
Benefits
- Excellent seamability and seam strength
- High void volume retention
- Proprietary treatment process for high durability
Applications
- Linerboard, newsprint and pulp
- Pickups and press positions
- Uhle box dependent water removal
MicroTec™
The MicroTec is a fine mesh, double layer fabric designed to provide performance and sheet quality. The single monofilament base construction provides z-direction stability for high operating caliper and void volume. On high water load positions, it provides increased water removal and improved machine efficiency.
Benefits
- Improved water removal and sheet finish
- Proprietary treatment process for high durability
- Reduces yarn and seam marking
Applications
- All mark critical paper grades
- Pickups, presses and transfer presses
- Effective under all loading and vacuum condition
